Last week I spent three days with a group of photographers in Central Oregon near the north and middle forks of the John Day River. With little more on the agenda than enjoying each other's company and shooting some photos, we let curiosity lead us through the stark landscape to ghost towns, fossil beds, and deserted hot springs before reconvening at a remote cabin to potluck and recap the day's outings. These photos were taken at sundown before our final potluck at the cabin.
